With over 60 Christmas markets in Berlin, it can be quite hard to choose which ones to visit. So, we’ve whittled it down to our top 7 markets to make your Christmas shopping a little easier!
Nostalgic Christmas Market at the Opernpalais
November 25th – December 27th 2015.
Follow the smell of roasted chestnuts and almonds, South Tyrolean specialties, to find over 150 artisans from all over the world selling beautifully created Christmas arts and crafts. After getting a little merry on Feuerzangenbowle, traditional burnt punch, take an old-fashioned horse carriage for a stroll through good old Mitte. Or simply enjoy a ride on the wooden horse carousel and the ferris wheel.

Berlin Environmental and Christmas Market
November 28th – December 20th.
Open on weekends, the Eco market on Sophienstraße focuses on fair trade, ecological and organic handicraft products and foods made in Berlin. Visitors can enjoy organic bratwurst, pies, waffles, vegan dishes and mulled wine while brass bands, stilt walkers and Santa Claus add to the Christmassy atmosphere.

Christmas Market at Charlottenburg Palace
November 23rd – December 26th 2015
Held in the grounds of the famous former royal palace, a charming light installation bathes the market, palace and trees in a romantic glow. The market offers a wide range of crafts and an impressive selection of culinary delights from hot chestnuts, crepes or Hungarian langos.
Don’t miss the Winterwald, winter forest, a magical attractions for children, including a nostalgic carousel and a small railway.
A visit to the Christmas market in front of Charlottenburg Palace is a truly wonderfully experience.

Christmas Market Spandau
November 25th – December 27th 2015.
For 45 years, Spandau has been the largest Christmas market in Berlin. With up to 400 stands, art vendors and exhibitors that invite you in to the atmospheric and wonderfully decorated old town. Come enjoy the music of “Christmas meets Rock and Roll” and give Christmas Karaoke a go. Kid’s can have fun at the nativity scene with real animals and the fairy tale Christmas garden.

WeihnachtsZauber at the Gendarmenmarkt
November 23rd – December 31st.
Gendarmenmarkt is one of the most beautiful markets that Berlin has to offer. Although there is a small admission of 1 €, its a small price to pay to enjoy a real Berliner Christmas. Treat yourself to a delicious cup of white chocolate-milk and special delicacies from some of the country’s top chefs. Plus, there is plenty of entertainment including jugglers, acrobats, fire artists, choirs and more. It certainly is a market not to be missed.

Lucia Christmas Market
November 23rd – December 22nd.
The Nordic-Scandinavian Christmas market in Berlin welcomes visitors with traditional Scandinavian handicrafts, food, drinks and entertainment. Featuring a Swedish bonfire, bungee trampoline and nostalgic flying swings at the monumental site that is the Kulturbrauerei.
