Easter Holiday Ideas – UK

There are two little words that cause parental panic during the school holidays, and they are “I’m bored!”  Don’t worry if your budget won’t stretch to an Easter break in the sun or a sojourn on the ski slopes, 365Tickets are here to help you make the most of your UK “staycation” by offering discounts on entry to popular attractions and value for money combination offers.

School may be out, but many venues are educational as well as entertaining, and can help with those pesky school projects, whether they be on History, Science, Art or Ecology.  In London, Kensington Palace is holding an Easter Egg hunt and bonnet making event, and Kew Gardens are celebrating 50 years of Willy Wonka with a chocolate eggstravaganza! Join the Easter Bunny and friends at the London Eye in their search for their lost eggs, or visit Hampton Court Palace’s Easter Fair –  in aid of Starlight childrens charity.  It’s not all about chocolate – Spring also brings new life, and London Zoo’s female Sumatran Tiger gave birth to triplets in February, so why not play spot the cubs instead of hunt the eggs?

Down in Cornwall, the Eden Project has an eggscellent Chocolate Unwrapped Festival for the Easter holidays, where kids can learn about the Cocoa plant in the Rainforest Biosphere and a chocolatier will help them add flavours to their own customised chocolate bar!

If you want to burn off those excess calories and have some family fun at the same time, Cyclopark in Kent has BMX and mountain bike courses, a skatepark and trainer bikes for younger children, and for older kids a voucher for an indoor surfing experience would make a great Easter holiday treat.  Anyone taller than 3ft 6” can use the Flowrider facilities in Bedfordshire or East Yorkshire, and a £10 discount on the gate price with wetsuits and instruction provided makes it a real bargain.  A trip to the Jorvik Viking Centre in York with all its sights, sound effects, smells and hairy vikings really bring the era to life, and on April 14th the centre celebrates its 30th birthday – there will be cake!  Check out 365Tickets offers on indoor and outdoor activities  – boredom is not an option this Easter!
