History of Thorpe Park Theme Park:
Located in Chertsey, Surrey, England, UK. Thorpe Park is built on what used to be a quarry owned by Ready Mix Concrete. In the early 1970s after the quarry had been closed. Opened in 1979 by Louis Mountbatten It included the Mountbatten Pavilion (now called the Dome because it’s a Dome) and a few other smaller attractions with educational elements. Year on Year more rides and attractions were added in in 2002 Colossus, Thorpe Parks first Large Roller Coaster was added.
Now owned and run by Merlin Entertainments, who also own Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, LEGOLAND Windsor, Madame Tussauds, The London Eye, The Dungeons, and SEA LIFE Centres, THORPE PARK has become a Thrill Seekers paradise with some of the UK’s most famous rides located there.Th

AMITY COVE: The New England fishing village of Amity Cove is on constant flood alert as a tidal wave has decimated the little town and another wave is on its way! The community have been asked to head to evacuation points. Will you be one to survive or one to be simply swept away?
On the other side of Amity, safe from tidal wave strikes is the Amity speedway. Kids can go for a spin on Storm in a Teacup or try the Flying Fish family roller coaster whilst the more adventurous can ride Europe’s tallest and fastest launched roller coaster, Stealth.

CALYPSO QUAY: This is a bright, colourful, Caribbean quay, there’s a great mix of rides here – the jaw dropping 5.5 g-force tower drop of Detonator, plus the great family attraction, unique 4D experience, Time Voyagers and wild water Rumba Rapids.
Best of all is Nemesis Inferno, a true white knuckle inverted roller coaster which winds through the volcanic and tropical land.

CANADA CREEK: The authentically themed Canadian creek has some great rides and attractions. From the thrilling Loggers Leap log flume – the tallest in the UK, to the spinning Rocky Express train ride and the outrageous revolving, free fall, sky swat ‘Slammer’. You can also take the Canada Creek Railway for a fun ride through a dramatic canyon and around the beautiful lake.

FACILITIES: Toilets, Baby ChangeLOST CITY: The largest area of the park the Lost City is packed with intense rides to satisfy even the most demanding thrill seekers. The high octane trio of Vortex, Zodiac and Quantum are just inside the ancient walls, with Rush, the world’s largest speed swing and the world’s first ‘blackwards’ rollercoaster X: No Way Out, further in the ancient land. Lost city also includes the world record breaking 10 inversion roller coaster Colossus is simply phenomenal plus there’s the ultimate stomach churning experience of the mighty Samurai.

Saw: The Ride challenges you to take on the physical stresses of a Gerstlauer themed nightmare, whilst Saw:Alive tempts you into the derelict remains of the SS Anne and the mental difficulties of encountering Jigsaws victims.
